TECH TIPS Surge Guard® models 76-9739 (34931) (2450 Joules) and 76-9740 (34951) (4200 Joules) provide full electrical protection for any RV type and are highly recommended for larger towables and motorhomes. With a new, brighter, easy-toread LCD display, these models provide a textual information display that does not require code interpretation. Real time voltage and amp draw are continuously displayed on the LCD screen. Power is automatically disconnected if the following conditions are present: low/high voltage, open ground, open neutral, reverse polarity, and overheating of plugs. The incoming power is constantly monitored, allowing for automatic reset when acceptable power is restored. These models also include a surge status LED indicator. Both the Surge Guard 30A 76-9739 (34931) and 76-9740 (34951) can detect and protect against elevated ground line currents that are generated inside of the RV. New patent-pending technology allows the Surge Guard 50A Model 34951 to detect an open neutral condition inside the RV. The Surge Guard device can detect open neutral on the common neutral line from the device to the main breaker panel.
