RIDE CONTROL Trailer And 5th Wheel TRAILER AND 5TH WHEEL RIDE CONTROL NOTE: The shock or spring systems can be installed separately, but ride quality is significantly improved when both the slipper spring system and the shock absorbers are used in tandem. COMFORT RIDE SLIPPER SPRINGS What makes them better? THE AXLES ARE ISOLATED - the slipper leaf springs attach to a central hanger that isolates each axle, so the two springs are no longer connected. Each spring is free to absorb and dissipate energy independently. FEWER MOVING PARTS - 10 of the 14 moving parts in a conventional trailer suspension have been eliminated; the remaining four are lubricated with long-life bushings. 72-2687 R6L 2560 Slipper spring system for axles rated up to 5,000 lb. 04-7418 R6L 2560-50 Third axle kit -5k (components for one additional axle) 72-2684 R6L 2570 Slipper spring system for axles rated up to 7,000 lb. 72-2684 R6L 2570-50 Third axle kit (components for a third 3" axle) 72-2882 R6L 2850 Slipper spring system for axles rated up to 8,000 lb. 72-2685 R6L 2580-50 Third axle kit - 8k (components for one additional axle) COMFORT RIDE SHOCK ABSORBERS What makes them better? VERTICALLY MOUNTED SHOCKS - patented mounting brackets allow the shocks to be mounted vertically, where they have the leverage to limit up-and-down motion on both compression and rebound. ANGLED TO PROVIDE SWAY CONTROL - Because the shocks are angled to the outside, the trailer’s weight stays centered over the tires, which helps control sway by limiting lateral suspension travel and side-to-side rocking. 72-2681 R6L 2450 Shock absorber system for 2-3/8” axle diameters 04-7418 R6L 2450-50 Third axle kit (components for a third 2-3/8" axle) 72-2686 R6L 2460 Shock absorber system for 3” axle diameters 04-7418 R6L 2460-50 Third axle kit (components for a third 3" axle) 72-2882 R6L 2470 Shock absorber system for 3½” axle diameters 06-8569 R6L 2470-50 Third axle kit (components for a third 3-1/2" axle) FLOATS YOUR TRAILER OVER THE TOUGHEST ROADS OVER 80% REDUCTION IN ROAD-INDUCED FORCES Independent tests* show Comfort Ride shock absorber and slipper spring systems reduce energy transmission to trailers/fifth wheels by more than 80 percent, over a variety of surfaces.
